Heritage Co-op Raises More Than $18,000 for Local Recreation Organizations Through Fuel Good Day 2026

Heritage Co-op is proud to announce that more than $18,000 was raised through Fuel Good Day 2026, with funds being shared among 13 local curling clubs and the Strathclair Skating Rink across Heritage Co-op's trading area.

Held on September 15, Fuel Good Day marked its 10th year of supporting communities across Western Canada. Through fuel purchases, propane fills, car washes, beverage sales, recognition card purchases, and community BBQs, Heritage Co-op members and customers once again demonstrated the incredible impact of shopping local and supporting their Co-op.

The funds raised will help support recreation organizations that play a vital role in bringing people together, promoting active lifestyles, and strengthening communities of all sizes throughout the region.

"Fuel Good Day is such a wonderful reminder of what can happen when communities come together for a common purpose," said Leanne DeVliegere, Chief Executive Officer of Heritage Co-op. "We are incredibly grateful to our members, customers, employees, and volunteers who supported this year's campaign. These curling clubs and skating facilities are much more than recreational spaces. They are gathering places where friendships are formed, generations connect, and communities thrive. Knowing that we raised more than $18,000 to support these organizations makes us tremendously proud."

Since joining Fuel Good Day in 2017, Heritage Co-op has now raised more than $140,000 for local organizations through the annual fundraising initiative.

"The results speak for themselves," said Reg Clarke, Director of Operations, Food and Energy. "When our members show up, good things happen. Every litre pumped, every coffee bought, and every donation made added up to something meaningful for these community organizations. Recreation facilities are important in both our rural and urban communities, and we're pleased to help them continue serving local families for years to come."

Funds will be distributed among the following organizations:

  • Brandon Curling Club
  • Brookdale Curling Club
  • Carberry Curling Club
  • Clanwilliam Curling Club
  • Douglas Curling Club
  • Erickson Curling Club
  • Minnedosa Curling Club
  • Newdale Curling Club
  • Rivers Curling Club
  • Riverview Curling Club
  • Sandy Lake Curling Club
  • Shoal Lake Curling Club
  • Strathclair Skating Rink
  • Wawanesa Curling Club

Heritage Co-op thanks everyone who participated in Fuel Good Day 2026 and helped make this year's fundraiser a tremendous success.
